About us
The Association of Norwegian Finance Houses (Finansieringsselskapenes Forening) was founded in 1984 taking over the responsibilities of the former specialist associations for leasing, factoring and other methods of financing. The association is the branch organisation for companies that carry out business of special financing, i.e. leasing, factoring, credit cards and other consumer credit.
The aims of the association are:
- To coordinate the common interests of the finance companies and to attend to and develop a good and professional cooperation between the members.
- To participate and work closely with authorities, organisations and other professional bodies to take care of the members’ common interests.
- To work for good and competitive development of the finance companies’ activities.
Member companies
Members are finance companies with official authorisation or subsidiaries of foreign companies having such authorisation in their native country, and also being subject to equity requirements and public accounts. The Association may also admit companies engaged in operational leasing as associated members.
The activities of the association
The activities of the association are closely to observe the laws and regulations concerning the finance companies, to make pronouncements in such matters, to assist the members in legal and professional matters, to function as a standard setter for the members with respect to financial services and fair practice.
The association has a cooperation agreement with Finance Norway and is a member of the international organisations as Leaseurope, Eurofinas and EUF. Cooperation also takes place with other organisations, especially in Scandinavia.
Information regarding important aspects of financing activities is regularly distributed to the members, and the association also offers employees in the member companies training programs and seminars.
